Preparation is key…

The teams are preparing now for the summer trips. How do we prepare? We study God’s Word, we pray for each other and we have others praying for us, we get to know each other over the phone and by email and we begin to allow God to ut us in a mind-set of missions.
Missions is not only in Haiti though, it is around us daily. Missions is helping a neighbor, praying with a friend, assisting the homeless, praying for the lost, taking someone to an appointment, it is being the hands and feet of Jesus.
Missions is what we are to do as Christians.

Wow God was good

Well, we got back to Florida on February 23, 2ish am due to a hole in the runway in the Turks and Caicos.
We had a great trip.
It is so wonderful being used by God to bring people to a saving knowledge of HIM. We had 20 people saved that we know of and maybe more because it is sometimes difficult to get the names from the translators but God knows and I know He is pleased.
We had 4 clinic days and saw around 800 people. We also had some experiences with different places. We got to go to Camp Louise which was a wonderful experience see Mme. Joseph with her clinic. She is a Haitian nurse and has her own little clinic which she says is open 6 days a week, 365 days a year. It is neat, clean, they have a lab on Wednesdays that is faster than any lab here in the US at getting results back to the nurses and in about 1 hour you have the results of stool, urine, pregnancy test etc.
Very impressive.
We had several people who got prayed with for salvation that came to church on Sunday, we love that. We all felt a kindred spirit of Christian brothers and sisters at church.
We had a “party” at the orphanage on Sunday afternoon and painted fingernails of the girls as well as got our fingernails painted and toenails painted by them. We had candy, balloons, reading and wow they are good little readers in English no less.
Some of the God stories from the team:
“My favorite God story was when we were doing clinic at the compound the first day. There was a young mother who had five children she brought one of the children to the clinic. The child was 11 pounds and 9 months old. We loved on her and told her to come to church on Sunday. We told her to come how she was, God doesn’t care about how you dress and we saw her in church. It was so good to see her follow through with her word. You could see she was a changed woman.”
Another God story from the team:
“My job was small but hearing from God was HUGE, desire was strong to come to Haiti. God is moving me to be stronger, to step out in faith and this was my stepping stone into the future. Being here I had no fear, no anxiety for the first time in my life..”
Another:
“For me several highlights that God allowed me to participate in or witness were Judlen dancing for the team( he is an 11 year old boy, swollen and sick with HIV). An old man whose heart was bad, he had the joy of the Lord and looking forward to heaven.”
Another:
“I was excited to get to know each of the kids better and was so happy to have some time with Mikey. Also the conversation I had with Ray and Cindy on Sunday taught me a lot. It was pivotal for me to see how God might use my stubborn spirit in the future.”
As you can see God does a work in each participant whether a patient or a team member and He makes us a little more like Jesus each day whether we are in Haiti or in the USA.
